The City of Sheboygan is a little more pet-friendly after a recent vote by the Common Council.
Dog owners can now have their furry friends at twelve parks around the city, including three where they can run around without a leash.
Dogs are now allowed off-leash on Lakeview Park Beach, at Pigeon River Park, and at the Sheboygan and Town of Wilson Dog Park.
They are now allowed on-leash at Evergreen, Cleveland, Moose, and Lakeview Parks, as well as Jaycee Park to Mill Road along the Pigeon River corridor, at the North Point Park and North Point Overlook, near the Greenwing River retention ponds, in the greenspace on Camelot Boulevard, which is between the 1200 and 1400 blocks, and at Kiwanis Park Area 8 Biergarten, unless there is a festival going on.
The Sheboygan Police Department is reminding pet owners that “if you bring your dog to one of these parks, please be responsible and clean up any waste they make.”
