Roger “Bucky” Wagner, 93, of Manitowoc passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at Frontida Assisted Living.
Bucky was born on June 28, 1931 in Quarry, WI to the late Edward and Mabel (Pautz) Wagner. He served his country in the United States Army. On December 15, 1956 he married the former Edna Quast, she preceded him on death on January 13, 2024. Bucky worked for Manitowoc Engineering, Spindler Co., until he started Bucky’s Service Garage in Francis Creek.
Bucky was a well-known and very successful area dirt track racer. He was an avid hunter and member of Francis Creek Sports Club. His greatest joy came from living with Edna on Berringer Road.
Bucky is survived by one brother-in-law and three sisters-in-law: John and Betty Quast, Betty Oliver and June Christopherson; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Bucky was preceded in death by his parents: Edward and Mabel Wagner; wife: Edna Wagner; brothers and sisters: Reinhold and Ruth Wagner, Betty and Gordon “Bud” Green, Valeria “Putzy” and Carl Madsen, and Ed Jr. and Elaine Wagner; and nephews: Ronald Wagner, Gary Green, Brad Green, and Edward “JR” Wagner.
A life celebration to honor Bucky’s life will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at the Lakeshore Life Celebration Center/ Peace United Church of Christ, 3613 Waldo Blvd. from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
