The Manitowoc Police Department is amid several fundraising campaigns to give back to those they serve.
This past Tuesday, they held their annual Cops with Culver’s event, where Sargeant Paul Krock tells Seehafer News that a portion of the proceeds plus in-kind donations will help those in need.
“We accept donations with ten percent of the proceeds going towards the program, which in turn goes to purchase gift cards and the like and are given to those less fortunate during the holiday season.
Chief Nick Reimer says Manitowoc responds to the call more than any other community in northeast Wisconsin.
” It’s started with only a few agencies and ballooned out too many organizations statewide. We are aware of the less fortunate.” Reimer adds—
“We are on the streets around the clock, no matter what. We know those people and want to help any way we can to develop relationships with everyone.”
Officers are back at work Friday morning, as (weather permitting) they’ll be camped out on the roof of Dunkin Donuts in Manitowoc from 6 a.m. to noon.
Any donation is worth a free cup of coffee while donations greater than ten dollars will garner donors a free donut. All proceeds will benefit the Special Olympics.
