Jefferson County has joined other Wisconsin communities in installing a Narcan vending machine.
The county’s public health department unveiled the machine over the weekend, which provides Narcan, fentanyl test strips, and other resources for individuals struggling with drug addiction.
Located outside the county’s health department, the machine is the first of its kind in the area.
Jefferson County Board of Health Member Jessica Coburn noted that such vending machines are becoming more common and accepted amid the growing number of drug users in Wisconsin.
The initiative aims to help prevent fentanyl-related overdoses.
