The Wisconsin DOT has announced that a new road project is expected to kick off next week in Fond du Lac County.
Workers will be on Highway 45 between Lone Elm Road and Highway OOO, where they will put down a new asphalt overlay, replace beam guards, regrade around those beam guards to the current standards, and replace three cross culverts.
The project stretches a total of 7.4 miles along the Lake Winnebago coastline, with traffic remaining open throughout the entire project.
While access to businesses and residences along this stretch of highway will be maintained, there may be limited access during specific construction activities.
The $3.5 million project is expected to be completed by early November.
