After a month and a half away from the mic, one-half of WOMT’s After Further Review team is getting back in the hot seat.
Jason Prigge will be in the studio with Terry Stevenson at 8:30 Thursday morning for his first show back since he and his wife Tina were hit head-on by a car.
Jason came into the studio this week, and we asked him why he wanted to get back to work.
Jason boiled it down to one thing: extreme gratitude for the community.
“Anybody who’s been around the past six weeks has seen a community come together,” he told Seehafer News. “I am just flabbergasted, surprised, and overwhelmingly grateful to this community for coming through for us because we needed that support, and we still need that support.”
That support was more than just through donations, with Jason revealing, “I have literally two grocery bags full of cards.”
The Manitowoc community was overjoyed to see a photo of Tina last week.
Despite going through a horrific ordeal, she still had a smile on her face.
“One of the things that we talk about when I’m at the hospital with her in our private moments, you know, when we weep together, one of the biggest thing we say is we’re still alive. We’re still here. We’re still breathing. We’re still who we were,” he said, fighting back tears. “The future, while it’s strange and different, is still there as well. We’re very lucky to be alive.
There have been many instances of people going through traumatic situations such as this, and the survivor coming out of it wondering, “Why did I survive.”
For Jason and Tina, the answer to that question is simple.
“There is purpose in our lives and that purpose is not fulfilled yet,” Jason said proudly.
As for what that purpose is, Jason said it’s all about continuing to shine a light on the awesomeness of the Coolest Coast.
Not only the scenery and the amazing things to do but also the people who have stepped up big to help two of the most giving, caring, and wonderful people in the world.
