A Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) principal is facing legal trouble after allegedly lying about a student bringing a gun to school earlier this year.
According to a recently unsealed search warrant, former Thurston Woods School principal Dennis Daniels failed to inform police that a student had brandished a gun and pointed it at another student in February.
Instead of reporting the incident, Daniels reportedly took the gun from the student and allowed him to leave.
The following day, Daniels turned the gun over to Milwaukee Police but provided a false account of how he obtained it.
Daniels was removed from his position at Thurston Woods about 10 days after the incident and was charged in May.
MPS has not disclosed whether Daniels is currently employed in the district.
He is scheduled to appear in court next month.
