The 2024 High School Football season kicks off tonight with several teams hitting the gridiron.
They include Manitowoc Lincoln hosting De Pere at Ron Rubick Field on a night where a stone plaque honoring the late John Dixon will be dedicated.
Play-by-play of the Shipbuilders and Redbirds will be on 107.9 WOMT and at WOMTRadio.com, with coverage beginning at 6:45 p.m.
Other openers include Chilton traveling to Crivitz to battle the Wolverines, the co-op of Random Lake/Ozaukee hosting New Holstein, Bay Port heading to Middleton, the Trojans of Green Bay Southwest hosting the Patriots of Appleton East, and Plymouth heading to Menasha to meet the Bluejays.
Elsewhere, Appleton North welcomes perennial power Mukwonago, the Peshtigo Bulldogs host the Coleman Cougars, and the Orioles of North Fond Du Lac travel to Milwaukee to tangle with Dominican.
All games kick off at 7:00 p.m.
