The first round of Common Scams & Frauds Targeting Seniors presentations was well received.
The first presentations were held on August 22nd by the Manitowoc County Public Safety Committee in an effort to educate and protect those who can be vulnerable to scams.
The event had a strong turnout of individuals who expressed their gratitude for the information provided.
The attendees learned about various scams and frauds specifically targeting seniors online and over the phone.
The Manitowoc and Kiel Police Departments were also in attendance and were able to provide additional insights for citizens.
The sessions were interactive, with attendees’ questions getting answered thoroughly.
The next sessions will take place on September 25th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Lester Public Library in Two Rivers and from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Whitelaw Fire Department.
