The Wisconsin Public Service Commission reminds residents that their power won’t be turned off during an excessive heat warning.
Although the warnings don’t affect the Manitowoc and Two Rivers, areas in Sheboygan, Fond du Lac, and Green Lake Counties will experience hot, humid temperatures throughout the day today.
However, even if you’re behind on your bill or have had your power cut off in the past, utilities might be required to reconnect power if a person has a health risk and needs to have their power on.
However, the PSC says that upon the expiration of the heat advisory, warning, or emergency, the utility may disconnect service to a property that was reconnected during this period without further notice if an appropriate payment arrangement has not been established.
Some recommendations for people dealing with excessive temps can keep their blinds closed, unplug unnecessary electronics, or do other vigorous activities in the morning or evening when it’s cooler.
Some eastern Wisconsin residents could experience heat indices of 104 degrees from 11:00 this morning to about 7:00 pm tonight.
