The Sheboygan City Plan Commission has approved a conditional use permit for the renovation of the former Able Light Thrift Shop building.
The first approval for the building located at 2811 South Business Drive was given during the City Plan meeting held on Tuesday (August 27th).
The building is a multi-tenant commercial space, which is the current home of Napa Auto Parts, which will remain unaffected.
The proposal, brought before the City Plan Commission by Quasius Construction, would see the south side of the building transformed into four new, separate businesses.
These businesses would be highlighted by a gas station in addition to a liquor store, a pizza restaurant, and a Spices Restaurant location.
This would be the third Spices Restaurant location in Sheboygan, as they took over the former 8th Ale Haus spot last week.
While the project has yet to receive full approval from City Development staff and the Common Council, progress is being made to bring stability to a business location in Sheboygan that has seen frequent turnover throughout the years.
