The Manitowoc Lutheran Lancers host the Mishicot Indians in a week two high school football matchup at Lancer Circle.
Both teams came up short in their season openers last week, with Mishicot falling at home to Reedsville 13 to 12 and the Lancers dropping a 19 to 13 decision to Roncalli at Rubick Field.
Both defenses played good football, with expectations of the offenses improving tonight.
Quarterback Benjamin Backus had 140 combined yards from scrimmage for Mishicot last week, while Brian Lambrecht had a whopping 19 total tackles, 12 solo in the tough loss to the Panthers.
Manitowoc Lutheran’s defense may have to carry the load for a bit as junior quarterback Jaymen Ott, who made his varsity debut last week, grows into the position.
His favorite target against Roncalli was Derek Laabs who had three catches for 59 yards and a score.
Kamden Baye had 50 yards rushing and a score, while Safety Issac Wagner had 11 total tackles in the loss to the Jets.
Both teams look to even their ledger at 1 and 1 prior to conference play opening next week.
Kickoff tonight from Lancer Circle is at 7:00 p.m.
