A local mental health organization is gearing up for their annual fundraiser.
Mental Health America Lakeshore’s 19th Annual There Is Hope Suicide Awareness Walk is scheduled for Saturday, September 14th, and will feature a keynote speaker.
Amanda Rae Button will talk about her experience with suicide, as her husband, Chirs, lost his battle with Post-traumatic Stress Disorder in 2018.
Chris was a was a Police Lieutenant in Waukesha County’s Sheriff’s Office.
Amanda has bravely shared her journey of grief, resilience, and advocacy for first responder mental health through platforms like UnButton The Stigma and nonprofits like First Help and Making Everything Good.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and Deland Park, located at 715 Broughton Drive in Sheboygan, with the opening ceremony at 9:30 and the walk beginning at 10:00.
