The City of Manitowoc will be hosting a county-wide active killer drill later this week.
The drill will be held at Manitowoc City Hall on Friday (September 13th) from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Fire and police personnel from all over the county will be taking part in the drill, and thus, a large presence of squad cars, fire trucks, and ambulances will be in the area during this time.
Quay Street, where city hall is located, will be closed from South 10th Street to just west of the Fat Seagull, while South 9th Street at Franklin Street will also be closed.
This is yearly training for Manitowoc County police, fire, EMS, and dispatch staff to remain up to date on what to do in active killer response.
The event will be coordinated by Bill Manis a retired Manitowoc Fire Department Chief.
If you have questions regarding the active killer drill, contact Lieutenant Arps with the Manitowoc Police Department at 920-686-6592.
