A project at a local church that started over a year ago is now complete.
First German Evangelical Lutheran Church began the long process of getting its organ refurbished in mid-2023, as the organ had been filling the church with music since 1919.
The organ is now back in perfect working order, and First German is ready to officially unveil it.
The dedication ceremony will be held on Sunday, September 15th, starting at 9:00 a.m.
A special song service will be held with former First German Lutheran School teachers and organists Carl Nolte and Joshua Wendt, tickling the ivories.
Additionally, a special organ recital will take place at 3:30 p.m., featuring organist Professor Aaron Christie, the Dean of Chapel and Director of the Seminary Chorus at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon.
First German, which celebrated the 150th birthday of the current sanctuary last year, will also welcome representatives from the Schantz Organ Company, who completed the refurbishing of the organ.
