The Two Rivers Police Department is speaking about the human remains found in the Town of Two Rivers last Saturday (September 7th).
Captain Andrew Raatz (RAYTS) explained on the department’s Facebook page that although the human remains were located in Manitowoc County and are being investigated by the sheriff’s office, they are working closely with them and the Wisconsin DOJ Division of Criminal Investigation to help identify the remains.
Raatz continues, saying they understand there are many questions surrounding the identity of the remains.
Still, it’s an ongoing investigation, and they, along with other law enforcement, can’t provide specific details regarding the race, sex, or age of the remains found.
They aren’t going to release any additional information being released until the remains are identified, which could take some time.
Many online are saying they believe the remains belong to missing 4-year-old Elijah Vue since the area they were found in isn’t far from where he was reported missing.
His mother, Katrina Baur, and her boyfriend, Jesse Vang, are in jail, facing charges of chronic child neglect for alleged events that happened before Elijah disappeared.
Baur is due back in court in October, while Vang is scheduled to be back in court later this month.
