A grant is allowing the Calumet County Sheriff’s Office to purchase a new piece of equipment.
The grant through the Wisconsin Public Service Foundation allowed for the purchase called the WRAP.
The device allows sheriff’s deputies to quickly and safely gain control of a combative or out of control individual and replaces the risk of injury to the person or deputies.
It includes leg restraints, ankle straps, and multiple ways to handcuff a suspect if needed.
The Calumet County Sheriff’s Office thanked Wisconsin Public Service on Facebook for the donation.
