A Kiel High School student spent her summer in Washington D.C. with Senator Tammy Baldwin.
Brooke McFarren was selected to participate in the Senate Page Program, which brings students to the nation’s capital to see how things are done away from TV cameras.
McFarren participated in the program from mid-July to early August, during which time she met Sen. Baldwin and told her about life in Kiel.
Sen. Baldwin said of the program, “Participating in the Senate Page program is a unique opportunity for young Wisconsinites to see the inner workings of our democracy firsthand. It’s always a pleasure to welcome our Wisconsin pages to Washington, where they can directly engage with the legislative process and understand the efforts behind passing laws that impact our state.”
