A retired Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy is being recognized for earning a lifetime achievement award.
The award was given to Captain Randy Schultz by the Green Bay Preble Optimist’s Club at their Respect for Law Banquet.
An announcement from the Brown County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page explains that Schultz has done a lot in his career, joining the department in 1983 after working for the Two Rivers Nuclear Plant and deputy with Manitowoc County Sheriff’s.
Schultz was a founding member of Brown County’s Accident Reconstruction Team while also becoming a field training officer and use of force instructor in the 1990’s.
The Brown County Sheriff’s Office says Randy was an example of professional police services with his motto of “be nice until its time is not nice, then be nice again.”
Schultz was also commended for promoting wellness and continued to advance the well-being of his officers when he was made a Captain in 2003.
He retired in 2014 and took a position providing public safety services at Northwestern Technical College before assuming the position on the County Board of Supervisors.
The sheriff’s department thanked Schultz for the four-plus decades of service.
