The Wisconsin DNR is hosting open houses for fish hatcheries and spawning facilities at a few locations next month.
The Besadny Anadromous Fish Facility in Kewaunee is one of those stops. On Saturday, October 12th, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, the spawning facility will allow the public to watch salmon egg collection, enjoy education displays, and take a guided tour of the facility.
The Algoma Kewaunee Great Lakes Sport Fishermen will also provide wagon rides during the day.
The other event is the Root River Steelhead Facility in Racine on the same day.
Later in October there will be an open house at the Wild Rose State Fish Hatchery in Wild Rose, Wisconsin in Waushara County.
