The Department of Health Services is urging Wisconsinites to get vaccinated against respiratory illnesses this fall.
In Wisconsin, flu, COVID-19, and RSV vaccines are arriving as respiratory illness season begins.
This is the time of year when these types of illnesses run through schools, workplaces, and businesses.
On these respiratory illnesses, State Health Officer Paula Tran says, “While they may only cause mild sickness for some people, for others, like older adults, infants, and those with underlying health risks, they can cause serious illness and even death.”
Currently, flu and RSV activity is low, however, COVID-19 activity is heightened throughout the state, most notably in children under 5 and adults over 65.
The DHS notes that those eligible can get all three of these vaccines at the same time to streamline the process of protecting yourself, loved ones, and others from these dangerous illnesses.
