The Republican running for a US Senate seat is speaking out following what seems to be another assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump.
Senate Candidate Eric Hovde said in a statement that he’s happy that Trump is safe after another apparent assassination attempt and that he prays for his safety every single day.
He continues to blame the media, saying, “After eight years of the left and the media calling him everything from a “threat to Democracy” to Adolf Hitler, is it any surprise that we’re having this violence?”
He concludes his statement by saying, “As I have been saying throughout my campaign, it’s time to tone down the political rhetoric and divisiveness, put on the Red, White, and Blue jersey, and come together as Americans.”
Shots were heard outside of Trump’s Golf Course in Florida yesterday.
The Associated Press says it was Secret Service firing at a suspect that was pointing a gun through a fence.
The suspect fled and was later arrested following the incident. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
