The city of Manitowoc is again looking to clean up Evergreen Cemetery.
An announcement from Director of Public Infrastructure Dan Koski asking for the public’s help to clear all decorations in order to help maintain the cemetery’s park-like beauty.
Lot owners are asked to remove all decorations like flowers, statues, and other miscellaneous things by the first of October.
Any item that’s not removed will be thrown away by cemetery staff, and any perennials found will be cut down to ground level.
Lot owners who want to decorate for winter shouldn’t place anything until November 15th.
Any decorations should be placed close to the marker to minimize damage from snow blowing for grave openings in the winter.
Those who bring artificial flowers should not put them on the ground but in a container kept near the grave.
More information on rules and regulations can be found on the City of Manitowoc’s website.
