Brillon Public Schools’ superintendent is telling the community about a concerning image following a threat toward one of their schools this week.
Superintendent Corey Baumgartner says a middle school student shared a concerning image of a different individual’s Snapchat story, which depicted a picture of another person’s Snapchat story that referenced a vague shooting threat that wasn’t in reference to Brillion or any other school.
Action was taken by Brillion Police, and they identified that the author of the image that the student shared resides and attends school in California.
Brillion Police contacted officials in California and found that the threat was considered fake.
Baumgartner says the district appreciates the student coming forward with the image and continues to encourage those within their school community that if they hear something, say something.
