A man is facing charges after he nearly drove over a disc golfer at a park in Manitowoc.
Officers were called to Silver Creek Park just after 2:00 Saturday afternoon after receiving reports of a man threatening to kill a group of people.
Officers located the suspect in a vehicle and placed him in handcuffs before interrogating him and some witnesses.
The 42-year-old suspect told officers that he became irate after someone called him a child molester.
He admitted to driving on the grass toward some disc golfers, and saying “you’re f-ing dead”.
The officers noted in their report that they had previous contacts with the suspect, where he had heard things that were not there.
A witness added that the suspect had made a shooting gesture at the group and that he had almost hit a golfer.
The suspect was taken to the Manitowoc County Jail on charges of First Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Criminal Damage to Property, and Disorderly Conduct while also being cited for littering.
