The Kiel Fire and Ambulance Departments are making a big transition.
An announcement from Fire Department Lieutenant Kyle Preissner explains that four part-time paramedics will become full-time to keep up with their paramedic schedule.
Preissner explains that for 87 years, the Kiel Ambulance has worked hard to provide service.
In 2021, they upgraded to a 24/7 paramedic-level service provider, which has helped the community experience faster response times and high levels of professional care.
However, calls have continued to increase, creating a greater demand for part-time employees, hence the promotion.
Preissner finishes by saying the historic change and transition will continue to enhance their existing level of emergency care.
The Kiel Fire Department and Ambulance Service thanked the mayor, city council, and the entire city for their continued support.
