The Sheboygan Area School District (SASD) will be holding information sessions and tours of two schools before the November referendum vote.
The information sessions and tours will take place at Urban and Farnsworth Middle Schools at 6:30 p.m. on October 3rd and 17th, respectively.
These come ahead of a $121 million referendum, which will be on the November 5th ballot.
A large portion of this $121 million would go to rebuilding both the aging and outdated schools.
Farnsworth and Urban are nearly 100 years old and are proving inadequate for the education of Sheboygan youth.
The main issues the schools face are aging infrastructure, safety and security, and insufficient classrooms and support areas.
If the proposed referendum passes, the property tax mill rate would increase only $20 per $100,000 of property value.
The information presentations will be followed by time for questions which will be answered by SASD representatives and Bray Architects.
