The Sheboygan Police Department is reminding citizens to lock their cars.
Over the past week, Sheboygan police have received multiple reports of entries to unlocked vehicles throughout the city.
In response, they have issued a reminder to Sheboyganites to help prevent this from happening again.
Authorities urge vehicle owners to always take their keys out of their cars.
Nearly every instance of vehicle theft in the city results from unlocked cars being left with the keys inside either overnight or while unattended.
They also reminded the community to remove valuables from their vehicles as it is less of a target if they appear to have nothing “worth stealing” inside.
They finished by reminding people to always lock their vehicles and to park in a well-lit area with surveillance cameras if possible.
As always, the Sheboygan Police Department also said to report any suspicious activity if observed in the neighborhood.
