Road America is set to host the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) for an annual event next weekend.
The 60th annual SCCA National Championship Runoffs will be taking place at “The National Park of Speed” from October 4th to the 6th.
The event will bring together nearly 600 amateur drivers from all over the country to compete for the SCCA National Championship title.
In total, 26 classes will compete in the Runoffs, which continues to be the largest amateur road-racing event in the world.
While money will be on the line, more often than not, the title of national champ is what drivers are truly after.
With it comes bragging rights amongst competitors, of course.
However, the SCCA Runoffs are often a stepping stone for these amateur drivers to move into a professional career behind the wheel.
Former event winners include racing legends such as Skip Barber, Paul Newman, and Roger Penske.
Attendees can expect to see American muscle cars like Mustangs and Corvettes to open-wheel formula cars flying around the 4-mile racetrack.
Campsites at Road America will be available for reservation and single day or weekend tickets can be purchased as well.
