The world’s largest dairy-focused trade show has begun and is hosting competitors and visitors from across the globe.
The World Dairy Expo, held in Madison, begins today (October 1st) and will go through October 4th.
World Dairy Expo’s vision is to have an inspired global dairy community united and thriving and this week they will converge on Madison.
Manitowoc County Agricultural Educator Angie Ullness spoke with Seehafer News about the importance of this event.
She pointed to the dairy cattle show as one of the highlights of the expo.
“I’ve been going to that show since I was a little girl,” she revealed, “It’s just so cool to see the best animals in each breed exhibited and usually there are about 1,600 exhibitors from all over the country and world.”
The World Dairy Expo also aims to allow the dairy community to learn, share, and create commerce.
This includes seminars addressing topics important in today’s dairy industry and guest speakers.
Speakers this year include U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack offering opening remarks to those in attendance.
Tickets cost $20 a day or $50 for a season pass while children 11 or younger are free.
