A mid-morning fire has claimed the lives of two pets and left a family permanently displaced.
The Greenville Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire involving a mobile home on Monday (September 30th) at 9:00 a.m.
The blaze started as a grease fire on the stove, and within two minutes, the entire house was engulfed in flames.
The family members were able to escape the home unharmed but were not able to rescue two family pets who perished in the fire.
The damage was catastrophic, and the home and all of its contents, including family heirlooms and photos, have been considered a total loss.
The Red Cross is aiding the family with immediate needs and a GoFundMe has been set up with the goal of raising $20,000 to help them restart their lives.
The Greenville Fire Department was aided in the response by the Fox Crossing Fire Department and the Town of Clayton Fire Rescue.
