The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is seeking public input on the Appleton Safe Drinking Water Loan Program project.
This week, the DNR announced that the City of Appleton is an applicant to receive funding from the program which would improve the public drinking water system.
This project would see the replacement of numerous lead service lines across the city.
Before the funding is approved, the public has been asked to comment on the environmental analysis of the project.
Per the Safe Drinking Water Loan Program, all funded projects must receive an environmental analysis.
As for Appleton, the program has deemed that replacing the lead service lines would cause no significant adverse effects to the environment.
However, they would still like to receive input on their analysis from the public.
