The Oshkosh Mid-Morning Kiwanis Club is fundraising for local animal shelters through a contest.
The Northeast Wisconsin Coolest Dog Contest allows anyone to enter their favorite canine companion and their favorite shelter or rescue.
Dog owners will pay $10 to enter their pup into the contest. After they are entered, contestants can ask their friends and family to vote so their dog can be the top dog.
Registration opened last week (September 27th), but it will stay open until October 26th, when voting ends and the winner is picked.
The top dog will get their dog on a beer, which would be supported by Craft Creek Brewing Company in Manitowoc.
The top 10 dogs also get a variety of prizes while the winning shelter gets a $5,000 cash prize.
The second highest gets $2,500 while third place gets $1,000. Other proceeds from the contest will go back to the Kiwanis Club.
Other humane societies that are participating include Oshkosh, Fond du Lac, Green Bay, Suamico, Neenah, Wrightstown, and Winneconne.
