Training in Sheboygan’s Citizen Fire Academy has just completed its fifth week.
This is the fourth annual Citizens Fire Academy held by the Sheboygan Fire Department which teaches community members about the department through both classroom and hands-on exercises.
It is a seven-week program, and the fire department has said weeks four and five were all about action.
This week, participants focused on search and rescue operations while using a self-contained breathing apparatus.
Last week tackled technical rescue using extraction tools while prior weeks covered topics of EMS training, fire inspections, fire investigation, and more.
