The Oshkosh Police Department has released its crime data from September, revealing positive changes.
Oshkosh PD has announced that it will release its crime statistics every month, comparing them to last year’s numbers up to that point.
Overall, the data shows that almost all crime numbers are down compared to this time last year.
Sex offenses, aggravated assault, and motor vehicle theft have all decreased by more than 20 percent in Oshkosh.
Theft, burglary, and robbery are not far behind and have all decreased by more than 17 percent.
Arson remains the same as last year, with one case in 2023 and 2024.
However, homicides in Oshkosh have increased, with four happening this year compared to two last year.
Other numbers show that 9 OWI arrests and 35 drug-related arrests were made in September.
With the release of these statistics, the Oshkosh Police Department also stated, “The safety of our citizens is always our top priority, and officers continue to work diligently to ensure this safety and increase the quality of life for all.”
