35 recipients in Wisconsin have been awarded millions in grant funding, including area libraries.
Governor Tony Evers and the Department of Administration announced that $115 million has been given out via the Flexible Facilities Program (FFP).
This program was created by the U.S. government to fund libraries, community centers, or other multi-purpose facilities in order to address issues resulting from the coronavirus pandemic.
The Denmark Community Center and Library was awarded just over $4 million to assist with building renovations that will benefit over 6,000 individuals.
Shawano received $4.25 million to expand a multi-purpose center which will help nearly 10,000 citizens lacking modern infrastructure.
The Ripon Public Library also has been awarded nearly $2 million for renovations to their facility which directly impacts more than 7,000 people including the elderly, those living below the poverty line, and more.
These grants were made possible through the Biden-Harris Administration’s America Rescue Plan Act.
