Four lineworkers from Manitowoc are on their way to Florida to help with Hurricane Milton relief efforts.
The category 4 storm is expected to make landfall sometime this evening and is expected to bring with it wind speeds of up to 155 mph, making it the biggest hurricane to hit the state in over a century.
Manitowoc Public Utilities sent four of their lineworkers out early this morning to make the trek south, where they will team up with workers from 23 other utilities that are a part of the Municipal Electric Utilities of Wisconsin mutual aid network.
MPU said of their contribution, “The Public Power industry is one of sacrifice and service when others are in need. As our General Manager always says, be well and work safely.”
