A man has been convicted for a fatal crash in Appleton.
FOX11 reports that 57-year-old Jeffery Wolfe was convicted for the crash that took place on November 22nd, 2022, on I-41.
Yesterday (October 10th), Wolfe pleaded guilty to charges of homicide by negligent operation of a vehicle and reckless driving causing great bodily harm.
Wolfe claims he turned to answer a question from his wife, which distracted him from traffic that had been stopped on the highway.
The Wisconsin State Patrol also stated that Wolfe crashed at 70 miles per hour and did not slow down until the point of impact.
The maximum prison sentence for his crimes could be more than 13 years; however, prosecutors and the defense are said to be making a joint recommendation of three years behind bars.
He is due back in court for a sentencing hearing on December 2nd.
