A chiropractor who has been accused of sexual assault has missed a court date.
WBAY reports that 76-year-old Ray Roddan missed his court appearance yesterday (October 10th) for medical reasons.
Roddan was in the hospital after suffering his second stroke since the beginning of his case.
He is facing three separate charges of third-degree sexual assault.
On Roddan’s behalf, his attorney entered not-guilty pleas on all three charges.
Roddan has been accused of reaching into the pants and fondling the breasts of three female patients.
He made unsubstantiated claims that they were methods of a specialized technique to relieve pain.
However, when police spoke with other chiropractors, they stated they had no such knowledge of any techniques, especially methods that were required to be performed underneath patients’ clothing.
Prosecutors attempted to prohibit Roddan from practicing while free on bond, however, those wishes were denied meaning the man facing charges of sexual assault will still be able to work with patients while legal proceedings take place.
