A person is dead after their vehicle drove off the Washington Island Ferry Dock.
The Door County Sheriff’s Office was called to the dock on Highway 42 in the Town of Liberty Grove around 7:24 pm yesterday evening (October 10th).
An initial investigation revealed that a 2019 Lincoln SUV was traveling northbound on the 42 when it approached the ferry dock and went off the dock and into the water.
The incident is still under investigation and no further details are being released.
The identity of the person who died is being withheld until the family is notified.
Multiple emergency rescue departments were called to help with the incident.
