The Manitowoc Lincoln Cross Country team was in Wisconsin Rapids over the weekend to participate in the Jim Newman Invitational.
As a team, the Ships’ girls squad finished 2nd on Saturday (October 12th), behind only Stevens Point.
Sophomore Natalie Portmann led Lincoln with her career-best time of 19:32, while Nora Free, Kendall Schmitz, and Emily Rabitz all received awards for placing in the top 20 of the meet.
As for the boys, Sophomore Reid Stryzewski led the Ships to a 4th-place finish with his career-best time of 16:51.
He and Junior Lucas Gallegos each placed in the top 20.
The Ships are back in action on Thursday (October 17th), competing in the FRCC Conference Cross Country Meet in Green Bay.
