Evergleam trees will be on the menu for this week’s Hungry for History event.
The Hungry for History series is presented by the Manitowoc County Historical Society, and tomorrow (October 17th), the event will begin at 5:00 p.m.
This week, the historical society will teach attendees about the Aluminum Specialty Company, a Manitowoc-based manufacturing company that produced aluminum Christmas trees.
These trees were branded as Evergleams in 1960 and became a massive success across the country.
Jordan Kabat and Barb Bundy-Jost, going by the monikers Dr. Evergleam and Nurse Sparkle, will also give tips on how to find the once-popular holiday decorations and how to properly take care of them.
The Hungry for History series is followed by a meal and this week it will be shredded beef sandwiches and pasta salad.
The presentation and meal will be held at Branch Station in Whitelaw.
