The Two Rivers gardening program might have a slight roadblock.
City Manager Greg Buckley tells Seehafer News that the Plan Commission on Monday (October 14th) failed to pass a motion to recommend the garden program parameters to allow produce gardens in front and street side yards that have existed since it started two years ago.
The council will have to decide whether they wish to schedule a public hearing on the issue like an amendment to the Zoning Code.
Councilwoman Darla LeClair, who’s been a voice for the program, explained to Seehafer News last week that the future could include having the garden program as a law rather than just a pilot program.
The common council will meet again on Monday, October 21st, with the topic possibly being discussed.
