The Wisconsin pheasant hunting season is set to open this weekend.
Hunters will have the chance to begin hunting for pheasants tomorrow at 9:00 a.m., and the season will remain open until January 5th, 2025.
The opening weekend will have a daily bag limit of one rooster per day.
Starting on Monday (October 21st), the daily bag limit will be increased to two roosters a day and will remain the same until the pheasant season closes.
The Wisconsin DNR plans on releasing roughly 75,000 pheasants from the state game farm, with one release already taking place.
Following the start of the season, birds will be released twice a week during the first two or three weeks of the season, depending on production levels.
As always with any gun hunting season, the DNR urges hunters to practice and follow the basic rules of firearm safety.
