A Green Bay man has a trial date set for his murder case.
A Brown County Judge set a motion hearing for 45-year-old Owen Backus for December 9th. His final pre-trial is scheduled for March 6th, while his jury trial is on March 10th.
He’s charged in the murder of 30-year-old Michael Hubbard at a west side home.
According to Fox 11, the pre-trial hearing would allow a review of Backus’ self-defense claim and attorneys to discuss the qualifications of expert witnesses.
According to a criminal complaint, Backus and Hubbard argued about changes made to a house.
Backus was attacked in the shower by Hubbard with a wrench before Backus then hit Hubbard, tied him up, and choked him.
