A man who took money for a contracted job he never did has been convicted.
FOX11 reports that 57-year-old Tony Cline was found guilty due to a no-contest plea on a Charge of Theft by False Representation in a Brown County courtroom yesterday (October 21st).
He’s been ordered to pay about $2,300 in restitution and placed on extended supervision.
Police said that Cline put an ad in a newspaper claiming to be a handyman.
A couple from Ashwaubenon asked him to do a bathroom remodel in 2022, but Cline took their upfront payment of $2,200 and disappeared without doing any work.
Investigators say he has a history of doing scams like this.
