The Two Rivers man charged in the death of 3-year-old Elijah Vue has now had his preliminary hearing waived.
According to court records, 39-year-old Jesse Vang was back in court yesterday (October 22nd) after two public defenders were appointed.
The lawyers moved to adjourn the preliminary hearing and set a status conference for tomorrow (October 24th).
Vang didn’t have an appointed attorney during his initial appearance on Monday (October 21st).
He’s facing charges of physical assault of a child, causing death, hiding a corpse, and obstruction.
Elijah’s remains were found off of Kristy Bob Lane and Manitou Drive in the Town of Two Rivers last month after he was reported missing in February of this year.
His death is being called a homicide by unspecified means.
Elijah’s mother, Katrina Baur, is also charged in his death.
She’s facing charges of chronic child neglect, consequence is death, neglecting a child, and two counts of resisting or obstructing.
She’ll be back in court on October 30th.
