Alice A. Haen, age 83, of rural Two Rivers, passed away on Wednesday morning, October 23, 2024 at Sharon S. Richardson hospice in Sheboygan Falls.
Alice was born on February 4, 1941, in Two Rivers, daughter of the late Elphege “Al” and Theresa (Karbowski) Kuenzel. She grew up in Two Rivers and was a 1959 graduate of Two Rivers Washington High School. Alice married August C. Haen at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Two Rivers on May 7, 1960. He preceded her in death on March 6, 2002. Alice was a foster parent raising many foster children over the years. She also babysat children in her home. Alice was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish and was active in the church as a leader of the prayer committee, the giving tree at Christmas, summer rummage sale, Adoration Chapel Ministry, communion distributor, and a member of the St. Clare Society.
Survivors include her children: Lisa (Jeff) Bloom, Dawn Haen, Paul Haen, Becky (Allen) Schneider; fifteen grandchildren: Amanda (Arturo) Delgado, Crystal (Mike) Kruse, Brendan (Megan) Rolston, Malissa (Matt) Christensen, Krista (Marty) Casperson, Travis (Maggie) Bloom, Quintin Haen, Alicia (Emory) Allen, Wesley Vorner, Kimaco (Bryan) Krahn, Stephanie Young, Lester Young, Nicholas (Adrienne) Seefeldt, Branden (Lucy) Haen, A. J. Schneider; honorary grandson: Justin Destree; twenty-two great-grandchildren; one sister: Kathleen Bornemann; one brother-in-law: Arnold Haen, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: Al and Theresa Kuenzel; her husband: August Haen; one daughter: Lori; one son: Mark; two sisters and five brothers-in-law: Barbara (Peter) Davis, Pat (Ron) Babler, Charlie Bornemann, Kenneth Haen, Jim Haen.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, October 28, 2024, at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand, 1416 Grand Avenue, Manitowoc. The Rev. Jason Blahnik will celebrate the Mass of Christian burial with burial at the Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Monday from 9:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am.
