A bomb threat at a Fond du Lac school was not credible.
Fond du Lac Police explain that they were called to the STEM Academy on S. Military Road yesterday (October 28th) at 1:00 pm after a handwritten bomb threat was found in one of the boys’ bathrooms.
The student gave the note to a janitor, and the school was evacuated.
A first look through the school showed no suspicious circumstances, and a second search showed the same.
Two K9 bomb-sniffing dogs from the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office also searched the school as a final precaution.
They also found nothing, and the school was deemed safe.
Fond du Lac Police Captain Robb Duveneck said, “We take all school threats seriously and respond accordingly, and in this case, we took all necessary measures to confidently deem the school safe for students and staff to return.”
Police did not release any information about a suspect.
They finished their statement by thanking the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office K9 Bomb Squad for their assistance.
