A new business in Two Rivers will take over the former Two Rivers Elks Club building.
On Monday night (October 28th), the city council unanimously approved a development agreement for the Violet Inn Lounge and Spa, which will take over on 16th Street.
The agreement allows the owners to get a Pay as You Go Development Grant.
City Manager Greg Buckley explained the grant creates an obligation for the business to pay back taxes on the property since the city isn’t investing any money into it.
The investment would be about $2 million.
As we’ve previously reported, the Violet Inn Lounge and Spa would be a hotel with six rooms, a cocktail lounge, and a spa with some areas open to the public.
Demolition of the inside of the building would begin around Veterans Day.
